World Thinking Day Celebration 2009
World Thinking Day, first started in 1926, is an opportunity for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world to appreciate and think of one another. Every year, 10 million girls and young women of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts celebrate World Thinking Day on February 22.
The central, nation-wide World Thinking Day celebration was held on 21 February at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Our Patron, Mrs S R Nathan, President GGS, Mrs Joy Balakrishnan together with 7,000 past and present members joined in the celebration.
This year, Girl Guides Singapore shows her support for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games by introducing the Singapore 2010 YOG Interest Patch – a new initiative by GGS to encourage its members to participate and contribute to the success of Singapore 2010.
Girl Guides Singapore also unveiled it’s revamped website. The site, www.girlguides.org.sg is designed in direct response to GGS’ survey into what our members really wants. Visitors to the site will find the new look to be more friendly, interactive and full of helpful information.
