WHAT IS GUIDES' OWN

A Guides' Own (the term is the same regardless of branch) is an act of worship planned and carried out by members of the unit/Movement. It provides an occasion for Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Guiders to express their feelings about the values they hold. It is not a religious service nor a substitute for such. It contributes to a deeper awareness of the relationship among people, and between people and God.

It is a made-up ceremony where we can put the Promise and Law into action. There is no set format for Guides' Own. It must be eaningful to the girls, in good taste and well done.
